Four of Spades- BurkeBlack

This was playing card designed for Twitch charity program which unfortunately wasn't able to reach it's completion. The concept was Twitch would take 52 popular Twitch Gaming channels and 52 artists on Twitch creative to pair up and creative a playing card for a full set! It was a really fun and cool project to be a part of.

I was paired with BurkeBlack and I delighted to work with his whole pirate theme! I wanted a realistic panting of Burke slashing through a playing card, with his little Kraken mascot perched on his shoulder holding up the '4', using the shape of it's head as a Spade.

In interest of getting the card completed in time I tried to paint over a real photo of Burke to really sell the difference between the flat graphic of the playing card versus is real life self. I had to edit a lot to get the lighting how I wanted and it was a fun and educational experience!
